E-learning Course: Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in African Cities

An e-learning course to understand the drivers and impacts of climate change in cities, and to learn about various planning and decision-making approaches for climate change adaptation in African cities.

Students will learn about climate change and its impact on cities, social vulnerability and its determination in the context of African cities, and urban climate resilience. They will also learn about various planning methods for climate change adaptation and mitigation, discuss tools for decision-making, and gain insights from case studies in various African cities.

Use this tool to help your students find answers to:

  1. Define social vulnerability. Describe methods to determine social vulnerability to climate change.
  2. What is an urban climate resilience framework?
  3. What are the existing barriers to climate change adaptation and mitigation in African cities? How can these barriers be overcome?
