Understanding Climate Vulnerabilities and Building Climate Resilience

Game

A game that provides an immersive learning experience to visualize the possible effects of climate change on our cities and neighborhoods in the future, and to explore actions for climate change adaptation and mitigation.

Students will visualize the effects of climate change—such as sea-level rise, storm surges, extreme weather, and environmental refugees—in a futuristic scenario of the city of Delta in British Columbia, Canada. They will then choose and explore specific present-day actions (at a city and neighborhood level) that can help in adapting to and mitigating climate change-related problems in the future.

Use this tool to help your students find answers to:

  1. What is the effect of sea-level rise on coastal cities?
  2. What actions can help mitigate climate change in your neighborhood or city?
